Q : How much does an ISIC card cost in Kuwait?
A : In Kuwait, ISIC card costs 6.5 KD once a year

Q : Is the ISIC card valid one year from date of issuing?
A : NO, the ISIC card is valid for 16 months, from September of the current year till December of the following year. If a student applies for it at anytime, the validity is the same. The same applies to the validity of the ITIC card. As for the youth card, its valid for one year from the date of issuing.

Q : Who is eligible to get an ISIC card?
A : The ISIC card is available to full-time students at school, college or university, aged 12 years and above. There is no upper age limit.

Q : What are the benefits of ISIC?
A : ISIC is the only international proof of a full time student around the world. It's the only international student ID endorsed by UNESCO & it plugs you into a world of discounts Locally and worldwide. Its holder has more than 300 benefits in the GCC and more than 40,000 discounts in 120 countries around the world.

Q. Is there an age limit?
You have to be at least 12 years old to get an ISIC card. There is no upper age limit, as long as you are a full-time student. Some discount providers include age restrictions in their offer.

Q. My card has been lost or stolen – how can I replace it?
A. You can apply for a replacement ISIC, IYTC or ITIC card at Golden Gate Travel & Tourism. ISIC cards are non-refundable and non-transferable, so you will have to pay the full cost of a new one.

Q. My card is expired, how can I renew it?
A. To renew your card, please contact our offices for your renewal.

Q. What documents do I need to get an ISIC card?
A. The ISIC card is only available to full-time students, so you must be able to prove you are currently studying full time at school, college or university. When applying, please provide one of the following documents:
  • A copy of your university or student identity card, clearly dated and indicating you are a full-time student or
  • A signed and dated letter on official university or school stationery stating you are studying there full time. We prefer an original copy, although photocopies and faxes may be accepted.
  • You will also need:
  • Proof of your date of birth;
  • A passport-sized photograph.

Q. What documents do I need to get an International Youth Travel Card (IYTC)?
A. The International Youth Travel Card is for people aged between 12 and 25 years old.
To get an IYTC you must be able to prove your age with one of the following documents:
  • Passport or
  • Birth certificate or
  • An official identity card issued in your country of residence
  • You will also need to bring along a passport-sized photo.

Q. What documents do I need to get an International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC)?
A. The ITIC card is especially for full-time professional teachers. To prove your full-time teaching status, you will need to bring a letter on official school or university stationery. This must state that you are employed at a recognised school, college or university for at least 18 hours per week, for a minimum of one academic year.
You will also need a passport-sized photo.

Q : I would like to get an ISIC card, but there is no representative at my school/university. What should I do?
A : In that case, there are two ways to obtain your card. You can either apply directly at Golden Gate Travel & Tourism, or you can receive it by POST just by clicking HERE and applying online

Q : Can I use ISIC after I graduate?
A : Once you graduate you are not eligible to ISIC anymore, instead you may obtain the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC), which will plug you to almost the same discounts as ISIC. You are eligible for the youth card only if you are below 26 years old.

Q : What are examples of the benefits and what is the percentage of the discounts usually?
A : ISIC has more than 300 discounts all over the GCC. They vary between restaurants, bookshops & stationeries, ski resorts, beaches, gyms, cosmetics stores, gadget shops, and much more. Please check the discounts HERE .

Q : IS the ISIC card transferable?
A : NO. The isic holder is the only person allowed to benefit from the discounts. Neither your friends, nor a member of your family can use it..
